Happy Tuesday!!!
What’s going on with you? How was your Monday? Did the first weekday of the week allow you to show up as the version of yourself you wanted to be? My day started out a little weird, and when I noticed the direction it was headed, I made a quick pivot. I refused to play tug-of-war with unwarranted emotions that didn’t belong to me. My mental health has been sitting at a solid 3 for the past few days, and I’d like for it to only go up from here, not down. That means being intentional about what I allow in my space and who I give my energy to.
I’ve started paying closer attention to the weight people carry with them, and it’s clearer than ever that some of it isn’t mine to hold. Protecting my peace means doing my best to keep anything heavy, negative, or unnecessary away from me. If I let it linger, it grows, and I’m no longer willing to gamble with my peace like that. Energy is contagious, and sometimes the kindest thing you can do for yourself is to walk away from the storm someone else is trying to drag you into.
Last night, as I went over my day, I made the decision to rebrand myself immediately. The life I’d like to live requires a full sweep and dump of everything and everybody that doesn’t align with my purpose. My tolerance for bullsh!!, distractions, or situations that don’t impact me directly is nonexistent. I’ve realized I’m often perceived as mean upon first contact, but I think I want it to stay that way. Those who get close enough to see my softer side often mistake kindness for weakness, and I’ve learned the hard way that some humans simply don’t deserve that access.
It’s a hard truth, but you have to be careful helping people fight battles they’ve willingly created for themselves. Not every fight is yours to fight, and not every mess deserves your energy to clean up. Learning how to separate compassion from overextension is part of growing into the version of myself that has boundaries, clarity, and strength. The rebranded me isn’t cold—I’m just guarded enough to stop pouring from an empty cup.
So as we start this Tuesday, I’d like for you to own your day. Make this day work in your favor regardless of the hand you’re dealt when you open your eyes. I’ve been diving into the book of Proverbs, and the principles it outlines can truly shift your life if you choose to apply them to your reality. Wisdom isn’t just knowledge—it’s practice. So, choose peace today, choose clarity, and most importantly, choose yourself. That’s the kind of rebrand that can never go out of style.
