Happy Sunday!
The new week is finally here, and with it comes a fresh opportunity to reset, recharge, and realign with your goals. What did you do this weekend? Did you carve out space for yourself, or maybe share moments with people who lift your spirit? For me, my weekend was exactly what I needed—it was filled with peace, clarity, and a much-needed mental recharge. I’d give my mental score a solid 5, and that feels good to say out loud. The beauty of Sunday is that it reminds us we’re allowed to step into the new week without carrying the weight of the past one.
I’ve been wondering why the universe—and my ancestors—let me cross paths with certain people. In case you missed it, I have a dominant personality: I’m direct, I speak my truth, and my advice lands more often than not. Someone who looks like an answered prayer but isn’t willing to receive guidance is an automatic no for me. I’m a fierce advocate for self-care and immediate, meaningful change; if a person refuses to do the work and keeps cozying up to self-destruction, they lose access to me.
I hope you’ve been recharging properly on Saturday.Self-care Saturdays are a must, and I hope you poured back into yourself yesterday. Whether it was rest, a walk, journaling, or even just saying “no” to what drained you, those little moments matter. Sometimes self-care means choosing solitude, and other times it means surrounding yourself with people who genuinely value you. The key is recognizing that your energy deserves to be preserved for things and people who honor it. Never feel guilty for protecting your peace—that’s not selfish, it’s survival.
As you prepare for this week, remember this: it’s okay to live without people you’ve been around your entire life. Longevity doesn’t equal loyalty, and blood doesn’t always equal bond. Never lower your standards just to associate with someone who doesn’t meet you where you are. Pay attention to behavior—because words can be a form of manipulation. If a person has shown you their true colors, believe them the first time. You don’t have to keep giving second chances that cost you your mental health.
One of the most powerful lessons to carry into this week is knowing your worth and refusing to dim your light for anyone. If you know you’re too good for someone’s energy, don’t lower your value just to fit in—release them altogether. Never let someone show you twice that they don’t deserve to breathe your air. Just because you see the greatness in someone doesn’t mean they’re capable of seeing it in themselves. That’s not your burden to carry. Let them go, and step boldly into this new week with your head high and your standards intact. Your peace, your joy, and your growth are far too valuable to compromise.
